One of the best things you can do to help improve your English is to immerse yourself in English speaking culture. If you can't fly to a country that can give you that, then the next best thing is to listen online.

Movies are not enough - scripted. Books are not enough - too many adjectives. But listening to a casual conversation on the radio will enable you to hear how many native English speakers (and fluent non-native speakers) communicate.

Below are the two top talk-back radio stations in Sydney. Both stations not only feature discussions on current topics, they also feature interviews with important heads of state. Prime Minister John Howard is a regular on 2UE, other ministers on 2GB.

Frequently the previous Premier of NSW - Bob Carr, appeared on various Sydney radio stations to discuss current topics. This would result in a large amount of people calling in to comment on those discussions. The dialogues could go for hours and would give you a great idea as to what to expect when you get to Sydney.
